Calling all HBB bezel screw experts.

Recommended Posts

I've had my HBB Black Magic for about 7-8 years now and I only wear it once or twice a year. I presume its the V1. You can look at the pics to confirm.

A few months ago, I discovered that one of the bezel screws has mysteriously disappeared. So the watch was left in my drawer until I discovered that forums like RWI and RWG existed. I used to buy reps the old school way by finding individual dealers in GZ until I found one I trusted (he has been unreachable for over 5 years unfortunately - could be in jail, you never know).

So last month, I sent Puretime (Angus?) a picture of my watch and he said that I needed a V1 bezel screw. I ordered it for $8 plus $15 shipping. Well it arrived this week and lo and behold, it does not fit!. It's the right length but too fat. I wrote PT and was told that they can't help me and not sure what screw would fit and I am basically SOL. It's not their fault but I am disappointed nonetheless.

My suspicion is that the screw they sent me is the HBB V1-Lite screw as opposed to the thinner V1 screws..?

So to make a long story short, where on earth can I find a replacement screw that will fit? Is my watch even a V1? I suppose that would make it easier. Back then, we didnt use names like V1. In fact back in the day (10 years ago) my rep dealer would just send me the watch without QC's. But each one were great (with the exception of the missing HBB screw in question).

Any help would be appreciated boys.

TIA

Good job mike. That seems like a decent place to start. Just out of curiosity, does the v1 take a gen screw?
