  1. Only people who notice the fonts and what not are US and watchsmiths. I can't tell you how many times AD's looked at my rep(s) and drooled over them. As for Cartiers, this was my starter rep my mother of all people got for $70 in Korea, and I've gotten MANY compliments on it; it use to be my daily beater for 2005. It still runs like a champ!
  2. Yeah, those are great posts. However, from what I understand, it's still a crapshoot even after the graph mods, and I don't understand why there isn't an alternative solution like a Miyota movement or some sort of Seagulls. Are there really no chronos out there with secs at 6 naturally?
  3. Ok, there HAS to be a way around it, no? I mean, has everyone given up? There has to be at least a Miyota movement or Seagull chrono with secs at 6, no? Do we all give up on Daytona, Portuguese, etc?
  4. it it's bought in November, contact Hont, see if he would help you out. RWI dealers are real good with that (most of the time)

  9. Kobold has been one of the preferred diver watches for awhile now from what I understand. Some of the base models are ETA mov's but their casings are pretty industry standard-raising badass mofos, particularly for harsh conditions. Given their ETA engines on gens, this should be fairly easy to rep. Besides, one doesn't even have to look like a tool with a submariner rep, walking into AD's; with Kobolds, you won't get called out... by anyone! (Then again, there is very little incentive for rep manufacturers to rep timepieces that are so specialized and obscure, if there is no "(fake) I'm rich biyatch" factor.)
  10. now, that's what I'm talking about! sucky sucky for $20! Oh yeah, the dial is great too! Anyone know any good dial modders in CONUS?
  11. How do you age dials? And/or who ages dials for fee? Or, who would like to age my 1016 dial for a hug? Etc. etc. etc.
  12. who cares about the rep strap vintagizing? Guanaco, I MUST know the name of your avatar!!!
  13. These were my very first rep purchases through Paul (which was a gamble but he was good with me; I was lucky). Are these legit quality? http://www.wo-mart.com/product_info.php ... ts_id=1129 and http://www.wo-mart.com/product_info.php ... ts_id=1165 So the questions are: 1. Is Paul's "5th ed" PO same as the Ult PO? If not, how is it different and different from 4th ed? Which is better regarded? 2. Is Paul's "so called perfect" sub same as the noobmariner except for the ETA? If not, how are they different? Which is better regarded? Thanks for your input, and Happy Holidays!!! _____________________________ "Let he with no history of noobdom cast the first stone" drfcfighter 3:16
  14. Yep, ByTor got some great reviews I also agree on the lube/oil/service part. My neighborhood watchsmith wanted $15 for taking a freakin' link out on my PO... I went to two others and got it out for $5... although I could have done it myself but didn't want to scratch much ($5 guy wound up scratching it anyway so...) At the end of the day, no one wanted to "service" reps; So I figure I should buy full serviced ones from start; at least Andrew and Josh and others here seem very reliable (e.g., I'm assuming when they say their pieces are "serviced" they really aren't lying).
